The Psychology of Being Trapped

On the eve of my mothers much awaited 63rd birthday !! yeah Mommy.. Thank GOD for blessing me with you!!

I am also keeping in my prayers the family of the Chilean Miners that are trapped, I can only imagine what their families might be going through. On a positive they are all still alive and I pray that God in his infinite Mercy allows them to survive this ordeal and that they may get another chance at life. May he grant them the strenght to continue and may he send them comfort, may they feel secure even under uncertainties and may they stay strong in their faith and in their love, May they not experience that trapped feeling that every one under those conditions might experience and may they find brotherly love and support. And most importantly may their eyes once again see the light of day and may their arms hug their loved ones again. Blessings to them and their family and to all the volunteers that are working to set them free, lord may it be your hands guiding them and may it be you that guides and secures the drilling so that success can be guaranteed.

Let this be a lesson to all of us.. to appreciate our Family and our loved ones, we are on this earth for a finite amount of time and any day and any hour the Lord might call our soul back home, so take time to Love. Take time to show you care, take time to tell those that are important to you.. that You Love them.

On their Birthdays make a BIG deal ( it is a Big deal) specially our Moms Birthdays.. without them .. we would not be here.

So I ask the lord to bless my mom with many .. many... many more birthday to come.. May her heart and eyes be filled with Love, Joy Happiness and Health. May she have wonderful years to come full of Happiness and may the desires of her heart become a reality. May God grant her a happy and blessed family and may she cry tears of joy and not sorrow. May she live the rest of her life in the presence of the Lord and may he cover her in his abundant Love.

As much as I appreciate fighting for women's equality , this is a tad bit over board.
If women want to go Top Less than maybe there should be a beach where they can do so. As long as their rights don't interfere with other peoples rights.

I for one like to take My nephew and my niece to the beach and as children we teach them that our bodies are beautiful and that certain parts need to be covered for our own safety and protections.

If women want to bare their chest , great do so.. I just dont wan't that right to interfere with mine and that of my Nephews. As children I do not think its appropriate for them to see bare breasted women , let alone at the beach.

next week we will have a man figting to be allowed to walk around in full Camando .. and well I ask how far is too far??

As a civilized society there are certain restrictions that citizens need abide to, that have nothing to do with Equal rights, or with discrimaniation against men or women.

The same way SEX on the Beach is not allowed walking around topless ( for women) falls in the same category.

But if women want to expose themselves then be it.. just like Smokers.. find a location and do as you please. Just don't think that your right to do so .. over rides my right to not have to be exposed to that.

Ask for a beach that is designated strictly for "free to go Bare" and I will make sure to respect your right and not go there with kids.

War and Battle

Today I was blessed to go to church and take my niece and my nephew to Sunday school. After service I always ask them what did they learn ? They are still small , my niece is 5 yrs and my nephew is 7 yrs old.. they show me their assignment for the day.. which usually consists of a bible verse and and entire page full of colors and drawings.

Then they proceed to tell me what the Sunday school teacher attempted to teach them. Sometimes it does not go that well because there is always a story about another child who happens to misbehave, but today, it was different , I asked them what the subject for their lesson was and they replied.. "What was yours, what did u learn??

So I felt surprised and did not expect to get that reply..specially since today.. it was one of those services where you know GOD is talking to you.. because everything that comes out of the Man of God is exactly what you need to hear. So I proceeded to tell them how we Learned about "Forgiveness" and having a heart full of Joy and empty of anger, resentment and hate. And how if GOD sees us walking around with a heart full of all this garbage , he can never make us happy. How we need to allow GOD to cleanse our being and make us new individuals, how we need to be different from the rest of the world.. and how we need to forgive those who have harmed us.

My nephew.. then replied.. MMMmm we learned the same thing.. =D

and them they showed me their work as usual.. a page with a bible verse and a study guide which has been covered completely with drawings..

But even if they bring back a page filled with drawings, My nephew draws whales and my niece draws monkeys... I hope that small baby seeds of faith are being planted and that as they grow these little seeds grow until the day arrives that they will be ready to mature and bloom.

When that day comes.. I pray that they are ready for War and Battle and that God covers them with all his Armor and gives them victory.

Climb that Mountain!!

what's on mind.. what's on my mind..??

I am sitting here thinking about life ( Yet Again) .. Yesterday I climbed a huge Mountain.. Honestly I did... I huffed and puffed all the way up to it.. I had set in mind that this time I was not doing it for a physical reward (exercise) .. But that I was in search of a Spiritual reward.

I was drained tired and I had a bad day .. at work I felt trapped.. I felt like I was in a cage and I wanted to run out.. But I was not able.. I am responsible and I want my job.. but I was having a " moment" .. a what Am I doing with my life moment.. A I want so much out of life and my mind is tired of thinking " what do I do next ? ".

I felt loss and like I needed to scream .. vent to do something..

Anyways work day was over and I headed with a lot of apprehension to the Mountain.
I have been climbing this mountain for a couple of weeks.. I am on a get fit or burst Mode.

But this time it was different. I climb and I said to myself.. " I will be at the highest point that I can be.. and I will be that much closer to GOD.."

As I went up and felt all the pain in my legs and bottom that I could bear .. I kept telling myself.. make it to the top .. U have to.

I got the strength that I did not know I still had.. As I started I was so tired that I said " God don't let me die doing this climb" because I was so exhausted..

But anyways .. I made it to the Top.. and as I walked to the Pinnacle of the Hill... I called upon God and I evoked him in the Name of His Son and I asked for the Holy Spirit to come to me and fill me with strength.

And I proceeded to make this prayer .. I asked GOD for guidance.. I asked him for Help.. I asked him to speak to me. I asked to show me my purpose and I asked for blessings in my life .. my spiritual , Sentimental and Financial.. I felt so much better and my mind felt so much at ease..

Today I will do it again.. for I fear that the every day Hassel are blocking my mind and are not allowing me to think..

I need to think out side the box.. I need to dance to the beat of my own drum , I need to make a decision that will be beneficial to my soul and to my pocket book..

Anyways .. I just thought I would share with you al this.. I am on a Journey ..I am trying to find myself and the place that I will play in this world.. Not an easy thing to do.. so I pray That GOD in his infinite mercy .. can help me and guide me through this.. and that I may glorify his Holy name, in what ever I decide to be or do.

The Desert

Sometimes.. life feels like we are being dragged thru the desert. Sometimes.. we might asks our selves how much longer can I bear the burdens of this life? On those occasions.. I want you all to remember that there is hope.. as long as we are alive there is Hope for greatness and for a new life.

When you are tired and weary and want to give up.. remind your self that there is a reason why you are in this world.. and call upon God to show you what is that reason..

I have a purpose.. I just don't know what it is yet.. But I pray to God in the name of his Son and pray that he sends the Holy Spirit to guide me and show me which way to go.

The same applies to you.. YOU also have a Purpose, you just need to discover what that purpose is.

Remember even in the dryest desert life still exist.. beautiful cactus and other plants still flourish. So if you are going thru the desert and your life seems to be over whelming.. call upon he who can deliver you and who will help you Flourish.

14th Amendment / Who Is a CITIZEN...???

WOW .. I am amazed at the ignorance and at the stuff that some of the Nations representatives come up with. Is it "Target a Latino Decade"?


First Arizona wants to profile and deport all Non Caucasians .. Now we change focus and they are calling for a revision on the 14th Amendment.. Which gives citizenship to ALL PERSON BORN ON THIS LAND .

Let's take a look at this, new proposal.. If we are to change the Constitution and not allow children who are born in the US to illegal Parents Citizenship.. Then that means that the entire population of the United States with the exception of the Native Americans would all be {excuse the term don’t mean to offend just make a Point) WEtBACKS!!

Whether you arrived here on a Ferry, Train, Boat , Ship ,Plane, Land, with Visa or not… we as well as all the children would all be Wetbacks..

Because every one knows that this land belonged to the Native Americans and none of them gave any one permission to invade and settle in their land.

How ignorant can they possibly get.. Both the Republicans and Democrats are not here to help any one but themselves.. Now you shift gear and zero in on defenseless children.

If America wants to ensure that it's Future as a world power and a Great nation is not a bright one.. This is exactly the way to do it.

Instill fear on your Future Generations and start persecuting new born babies.. Start doing Raids in the Hospitals Maternity Wards and send ICE to all the Day Care centers, Elementary Schools.. And let's not forget to stop at the Middle and High Schools and deport all of your Citizen.

That’s to me is called DISCRIMINATION And its Unconstitutional.

Hunt and persecute children.. WOW . Those in power are making the Good old Red White and Blue a Mockery.


I only pray that someone comes along who has the sense to put a stop to all this nonsense. I guess the Politicians got tired of starting wars and persecuting other countries, and have decide to persecute their own citizens.

To many this might sound like such a great Idea.. Specially since it does not effect them or their loved one.. But lets just think about this a bit.. If the Senators think that they have a valid claim to Modify and edit the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution.. And Deny Citizenship to what they refer to as "Anchor Babies".. (Which the majority of the babies born here to Illegal's are not.. In order for a Child to be called or termed ANCHOR baby that would imply that all these illegal women.. Crossed the border or came to the US already pregnant.. And solely came to the States just to give birth, which I am pretty sure that is not the case.)

Anyways back to my point, if the Minority of the people in power decide that the
14th Amendment can be changes and deny citizenship to Children who are born to illegal parents.. They can also go down the line and Decide that after the taking away citizenships from the Latinos. they can move down the list and maybe modify or edit.. Or even eliminate both the 13th and the 15th Amendment and deny Blacks/ African American Freedom and the right to vote… and they will probable argue that Many don’t exercise this right to begin so they won't miss it.

And Women once Men of color start loosing their freedoms and right.. We are not safe either. The Big Boys might even say that some of us lack intelligence to make accurate decisions and maybe it's time for Men to decide and speak for us and there go our right.

If any one reads this whether you agree or not with what I say.. Just take a moment and think about what happens when Group Think prevails and what happens when we decide to persecute someone and we use the laws and the courts to discriminate, eventually the shift will change and one of us might be the new target.

I have provided for your enjoyment the Amendments that allow us to be free and that dictate how we should be treated and how we should not be mistreated.. Once one of them changes.. There is no telling which one will be next.

selfless... not stinky and selfish..

I promised to share something new about my mother.. so here it goes, she taught me how to be selfless.. sometimes people think that you are a push over and might even call you dumb.. but not being selfish.. means placing others and their well being before yours. It means always willing to provide a helping hand even when the person does not deserve it or has done you wrong. It means knowing who you are and not letting others actions change you. I am glad she taught me how to be selfless and not SELFISH.. if she didn't I would had given up on so many special people in my life.

Promises

Since as long as I can remember there is one thing that I always told myself.. Don't make a Promise if you don't intend to keep it.

Speaking with my nephew and niece , I was reminded how intelligent we are when we are children. How even as a Child we know the meaning of a Promise and how important it is for us to for the person who made a promise to keep them. Little things such as promising to call and say Good night. Or promising to spend time with you.

As a Child I grew up away from my parents, for reason only they knew they were no longer living together. I was 2 years old and I was living with my maternal grandmother who raised me as her own. I knew my father and I would see him every 2 weeks. My mother was just a distant memory.. I saw pictures of her , but I could not remember her ever being with me. But Life was good.. I do know that my mother sent money and clothes and when birthdays came around I always had new shoes and dresses. Specially those puffy "look at me I should be on top of a Cake dresses".

And I was told they came from "mommy" who was living here in the U.S. and I was back in El Salvador. Yes I am not born here , I migrated to the states when I was 5 years old. Anyways my mother had promised herself to give my grandmother and me a better life than the one she had. And maybe as a child and a teenager and even now I sometimes have a hard time understanding.. But I must confess that I appreciate all the hard work that "mommy" did to give me a better life.

She had made a promise and I finally understand that sometimes LOVE is demonstrated in many ways. Some give hugs , some give kisses, some give life, and others give Dreams.. but just a few Give away their dreams to make ours a reality.
So to My mother I say "Thank You" .. for giving up her dream to make sure that I was able to dream.

She tells me she wanted to be a Nurse, but honestly I thing she could have been a Great Surgeon.. She is a strong woman , handling cuts , blood and all that stuff that makes me dizzy admirably. She is such a strong hearted person that I can bet she would have been a wonderful Doctor and not just a Nurse. But mother had to work to help her mother at the ripe age of 8 years old.. My nephew is 8 and I would not even let him go to the store alone..let alone work.

She tells me how she had to grow up fast and I see why she lacks certain skills that other mothers have.. and I fear that if i ever have children i will also lack them. not because we want to , but because we have never experienced them first hand. But all in all I love my Mother and I would not change her for the World.
She has made me into what I am today =)...mmmm she might not like to hear that.. But I do.. I consider myself a good person with a good head on my shoulder and a good heart. So if I am ever blessed with a child of my own.. I want them to be able to say the same about me..that I say about my mom.

I am sharing all of this because August is my mothers Birthday Month..YEAH!!!! and I am getting ready to celebrate her 63rd birthday. So I wanted to share what I appreciate about my mother, I think I will post something new every day. Sometimes we might not know how to show our parents that we love them... sometimes we might not have pretty words.. but we Do Love them.. as crazy as they may drive us.. I know I love them..

I am who I am because of them.. and I am happy with who I am . That speaks volumes!!

love your self and your parents cherish the moments that you have and forgive the wrongs that they do.. we are not Perfect.

UPDATE: MAC / RODARTE SEPT 15, 2020 COLLECTION
I was glad to hear that MAC will be donating 100% of their global profit from the sale of their RODARTE collection.

Thank MAC for showing us that our thoughts and concerns matter to you. I just hope that for future collections MAC is more careful when selecting designers to collaborate with.

So with that in mind , I have to decide if I will be purchasing any items .. will see, the cause is good, but don't like the route we had to go through to get there.

Rodarte / MAC / Juarez-- NOT a good Combination

As many of you might have heard that MAC is going to change the names to their up coming Collection which was a collaboration between MAC and Rodarte (better know as Kate and Laura Mulleavy) which is set to be released on 09/15/2010.

many may not understand the problem and may also ask themselves " what's the Big deal"?

Let me help you understand why this was not such a great Idea. Ciudad Juarez is a city were over the last decade more than 400 women specially young factory workers (from the ages of 12-22 years of age) have been murdered, victims of FEMICIDE, rape, torture. A ghostly town were even the name Juarez evokes fear in me and I am no where near there.

You would think that more thought would go into the creations of certain products. Specially products that are marketed to young women. Guess someone dropped the ball on this one. I can understand the Rodarte's lack of intelligence..or their eagerness to make a name for themselves at all costs, But MAC.. really they have been around for ages and ESTEE LAUDER. it's mother brand?? How could this slip by you??

If anyone actually looked past their comfort zone and actually cared about what going on right behind their back yard, they would have known that "JUAREZ" was not such a good idea. Some how a town know mostly for deaths and rapes of Women.. would not be such a great choice for me to get inspiration. Specially one that is so ghostly.. Next time do some research and think before leaping.

Both Mac and Rodarte or the creators Kate and Laura Mulleavy, should have done some Due Diligence.. RESEARCH.. or did they think that it was going to be a cool thing to do, to name make up products with names that evoke death?

Even "Quinceanera".. a blush set to be release as part of this collection ,as pretty as it may be..out of respect for the many Girls that were murdered before they reached their 15th Birthday or "Quinceanera".. I would not be able to buy it.

And take a look at their Promo Picture.. La Sombra de Muerte... She looks like death is creeping on her.

A Blush named "DRIFTING"..another one name "Ghost town" and many other names such as "factory," and "Juarez". Yes really disappointing, this campaign as well as RODARTES Fall 2010 Clothing Collection is missing a Sensitivity Chip.

And for the many that still don't see what's wrong with this, lets take this into account. I for one think that the Makeup Colors and products are beautiful, but the Inspiration and the Names are all WRONG!!..and the story behind the concept.. really a road trip through Texas?? And U mean to tell me they missed the Pink Crosses or the black crosses painted on light poles in and around Juarez in Memory of the victims??

I wonder how it would look if someone decided to take a road trip to Poland and the Auschwitz concentration camp and out of that they were inspired by what they saw.. wonder if any one would want to buy products named and inspired after that. Of COURSE NOT!!.. that is exactly what RODARTE is Doing. Inspiration.. call it CASHING in.. on the sorrow of others and I see Nothing ROMANTIC about death, Murder, Rape or Torture.

OMG!! I am on love with this song.. I watched Eclipse and I loved the part where Edward proposes to Bella and this song is playing in the back ground such a Romantic moment.. all I can say is that I love this song and I keep playing it over and Over.. it's the song playing on my Ipod right now.. so enjoy.. I hope we can all experience real Love in our life.. the type that loves unconditionally, the type that makes us be better that before , the one that sees with the heart and loves for ever..

staring at the sun...

I am looking at the picture that I am using on my Blog and I can only say WOW!!!!.. the wonders that God has created never cease to amaze me..

My Nephew asked me the other day what was the thing that I like the most in the entire world? When he saw that I was taking to long he said "OKAY!" what animal do u like the most out of all that Jesus Created.

So I said.. Me, YOU... he looked at me with those huge brown eyes and gave me the look , as if he was trying to not feel sad for me.. for not seeing how great a Blue whale is or his favorite the Killer Whale.And trying to understand why I had chosen to say Us.

But I proceeded to explain to him.. how wonderful I thought he was.. How God created him PERFECT. How our Creator made us so wonderfully equipped with skin that feels and touches, but keeps us all together, How he gave us a wonderful pair of eyes so that we can see the world, colors, the sky our loved ones. How we are the best machines ever with our brains and our hands and our ability to think, how we have a heart that lets us love, how it allows us to feel empathy and care for others even if we don't know them. How our legs carry us every where and how the blood that he put in us cannot be replicated , how we are the most wonderful machine ever created with living organs that keep us alive.

He then grinned as only he can and gave me the "I get It " look and a head nod.. he finally understood how we were the greatest thing that GOD has ever created and how valuable we are to him and how special we are.

PS.. He loves whaleas and sea life.. I love Jelly fish.. I want one .

My 100th Post...Rigths/ Freedom/ Equality

I had been wanting to post something for the entire week.. but I wanted to make it an extra Special Post , since it will be my 100th Post.

This week unconsciously I have been watching videos that show the trials and tribulations that women have to deal with around the world. On the weekend I saw a Documentary called "The Burqa Battle" on the French government's steps to ban the use of burqas.

And yesterday I saw a movie titled "The Stoning", about an American woman in Iran who gets rape and eventually is stoned to Death for Adultery. Anyways after seeing both of these movies, I could only say how grateful I am to be living in this country. I was thinking about all the freedoms that we women have and that we take for granted.

We have the choice to decide to wear what ever we want and go where ever we want and not fear being beaten and stoned to death. How a woman in the States has the right to speak her mind, to choose who she will marry, to be free to enjoy her sexuality, has the ability to earn a living and own property. How we are able to get an education and become successful doctors, lawyers, teachers or what ever we might want to become. How our parents would never think of hurting us for choosing to marry a boy/man outside our own race, color religion.

and all I could say was WOW!! I had just watched a movie about this yesterday and I had not seen the real story in the news. I for one don't mean to disrespect any ones religious beliefs or ideology, but I do believe that we are all created equal and that we all have civil liberties and right that NO ONE has the right to take away from us. That both men and women are equal that one is not better than the other and that GOD is the only one that can judge us. That we are all sinners and that we have No right to declare someone unworthy of life. That women as the agents that brings life into this world should be respected and love, that No man should impose his barbaric and small minded ideals on one particular group. And that as Citizens of this Earth we should all raise our voices and Call for a STOP to all these Human rights Violations that are occurring to women every where.

I am so grateful to be free and to live in this Nation, I am grateful that my Mother, Aunts, Cousins and Nieces and all My female friends do not have to worry about being persecuted and punished like these women.

But I am also sadden to know that there are millions of women around the world that are being mistreated, murdered, raped, and dehumanized.

I am sadden to live in a world that still views and treats women and 10th class citizens and how in some countries even animals have more rigths than they do.
I can only Hope for a Better tomorrow, but this can only be achieved if those of us today take a stand and vow to make a different tomorrow.

I would like for all of us to take a minute out of our own lives to try to help those who can't help themselves, Lets get educated and lets make our voices be heard.

Need new Camera

I love taking pictures, but my current camera.. is going.. going.. gone..
I need to find a new one, I originally wanted the Cannon Power shot, but My BF gave me a Samsung for my graduation gift. Now after a year it needs to be replaced. I am thinking a Pink Canon..if there is one and if there isn't... I will be happy with this one..

1 GOAL,, Education for All!!!

Hello every one , I have just joined 1Goal a foundation sponsored by FIFA and many Artist that supports and is determined to provide education for all. I joined and sent a Yellow card to be delivered to world Leaders urging a commitment to Provide quality Education to all the children in the world. Katie Piper .. Survivor, such an Inspiration

Piper first told her story in a British television documentary, "My Beautiful Face," which she said gave her the platform to rebuild her life. She hopes to inspire others and wants to help other burn victims receive the same extensive rehab that she did. (Courtesy Mohammad A Jawad)

Hello everyone.. maybe you don't know who Katie Piper is , so let me tell you a bit about her, also her story can be seen on ABC's 20/20 as Elizabeth Vargas interviews her and her parents in a special that will air Friday 07/02/10 at 10pm/9pm Eastern standard time.

Katie was a former model and aspiring Television presenter on an unfortunate day as she exited an Internet Cafe, she was attacked by a complete stranger holding a what according to her Look like a Coffee cup threw Sulfuric Acid on her face. According to her the pain was so devastating she felt like her face was on fire. Sadly this attacked was traced back to her Boyfriend , who hired a young man to do this to her.

I am so very sorry for her and the damage that was done to her face, but after listening to her story and watching the clips of the Interviews with Elizabeth Vargas, I can still see both the Physical and Internal beauty that lies in her. I am so happy that she was able to become a survivor and no longer a Victim, and that her story will inspire many of us . So that we might learn the true value of Beauty.
I really hope that she achieves her dream of being a television presenter. She has a multitude of qualities that young women can benefit from learning from her. She is Strong and Has faith and is a Survivor, she learned how to love herself even if the Lovely faced she was born with was no longer there, and I am so happy that she has made a full recovery and maybe to some people the scars in her face are not pretty, But to me.. Katie "I want you to know that the scars on your face are invisible and I see the beautiful woman that God created you to be".. You INSPIRE me and you let your inner Beauty shine. I wish that your story can teach all girls/women to love themselves.

Burka war

I saw this really interesting Documentary on France and the governemnts banning on Burkas. According to French President Nicolas Sarkozy

It ( the burka) will not be welcome on French soil. We cannot accept, in our country, women imprisoned behind a mesh, cut off from society, deprived of all identity. That is not the French republic's idea of women's dignity.

Nephew Loves this...Animal Planet Super Treehouse Playset

My Nephew received this as a birthday gift.. and he absolutely loves it. If you have an animal lover, and he or she loves pretend play and animals.. Then they will love this it is the Animal Planet Super Treehouse Playset It is available at Amazon for about $50- $60 but we were so happy to find it at Toys R us for $39. I will post later on some pictures of D playing with this awesome Tree house.. to be honest I love playing with it myself.. when I was little we did not have these many cool toys..
