Quality Time with Mom

Hello there hope you guys had a great day. I am still off work until my arms, wrists and shoulders completely heal. So as part of my Physical Therapy I need to stretch and walk and move so my tired limbs get energy. I can honestly tell you that I miss work , I am the type of person that needs to be busy and I have been cooped up in my home for 2 months.

You might say WOW.. so much to do in all that free time, my friend from work thought I was all over town enjoying my free time. My HR manager also told me to take advantage of the free time I have and do all those things that when I was at work I would find myself wishing I could do.  Like going to the beach , going shopping, taking Pictures, exercising. But they forgot one important things, I was in major pain and on some strong medication, All I did for the first month at all and take more medication to take the pain away.  Last week I can honestly say that I finally started to feel like my old self.

But now there's another problem everyone else is at work or busy... so  I might have all the time in the world now to go and see the great outdoors but no one to go with. Even my mom is busy, so I just stay home and do my therapy. I go and take a 40 min walk come back home do more stretches go to church spend some time with JC then come home check out a Flix on Netflix and the day is over. So as you can see its easy to understand when I say I AM BORED!!!

Well today after I did my work out and my Therapy I convinced my mom to stop what she was doing and just go to the mall with me, Just to walk and get out of the house Or else I would go Crazy.

So she did, after I bribed her with the though of some Yummy Panda Express.. =)

So for the First time in months I can finally say that I enjoyed my day. We walked around the mall and stop at Macy's.. you guys I love Macy's.  I worked there for 3 years and I had a great time meeting people and the smell  of new things is unbelievable. Plus that's where I met my shibi. So I have a lot of good memories at Macy's.  I had to resist the urge to stop over the MAC counter.. because I am going to the MAC Pro store this week so I couldn't justify buying something just because. Well my mom loves shoes and purses. Luckily for my wallet she did not see anything that she liked =D thank GOD.
I am not working right now so I have to be cautious as to how I spend $$.

After  on our way to the food court we went to the Hello Kitty store and I bought a Hello Kitty Key cover. Just to loose it minutes later,  I was so disappointed and I didn't even notice it was missing until I got home and needed to open my gate and couldn't find my key.
(By the way this is the second time this has happened, so I am not going to try to buy another Hello Kitty key cover) But seriously aren't they so cute?

Hello Kitty White Sheep Key Cover Ball Chain Hello Kitty Key Cover Set: PirateSanrio 50th Anniversary Badtz Maru Hello Kitty Hooded Key Cap

But as my mom said "be grateful we are safe and that you only lost something that cost $5", but I am sorry.. .$5 is still too much to loose, plus I lost my key and  I really liked and wanted the Kitty cover.

But I am happy because minus my Hello Kitty incident I had a Blast with my mom and yes she sure did get her Panda Express she loves that food. Mainly because it is the only fast food that does not make her tummy sick.

well time to go do more therapy.. xoxoxox and have a great evening, take a moment to smell the flowers and spend some quality time with your mom and your loved ones. Remember  the time we spend with each other is Priceless, and our days are not always Promised.

love ya Liz

Spring is Here

Spring is here and the flowers are blooming, I simply adore Spring!
This past weekend I spent the day at the park with my nephews and my mother. My nephew received an animal Habitat as a birthday gift, along with all the accessories a little scientist needs to study live bugs and Insects. He absolutly loves it and my niece who shares my Birthday has requested to receive the same gift. We spent the whole day looking for specimens to study, equipped with a magnifying glass a net and a extractor we headed off. But not before my nephew gathered a couple of leaves and flowers from my dads garden to put in his habitat for his new tenants.

Our first encounter was by accident my nephew and niece ran to the cactus garden and came back with a Buzzing Bee in their little dome.. to which I sad NOOO!! not that , that is a Bee and if he or she feels threaten it will use its stinger and sacrifice his or her life and sting us.. so we gladly let that one go.

A little walk up a hill and we found a gorgeous Lady Bug colony. My nephews had to find 2 lady bugs one on top of the other so they though that was something good , they were playing so they must be happy bugs.

You and I know they were not playing as they thought, instead they were mating . So we placed them in their new home . We then  found what they call Rolli Pollies, I am not aware if that is the correct name, but that is what my nephew and niece call them and in he went also. In a plant of mint we found a huge grass hopper but we let it alone and a beautiful beetle came zooming at us , which we also left alone.

We found some caterpillars and they seemed safe so they went inside the habitat . My nephew was loving finding and learning about the bugs. Next weekend we will continue our adventure and maybe if we are lucky take some cool pictures of some lady bugs and Butterflies.

I love flowers so I will definitely be on the look out for some pretty new blooms. Outside my front door our huge plant is already  blooming. From one day to the next it is filled with pretty purple/ lavender flowers. So go out and enjoy the Pretty flowers.. xoxoxo Liz

Happy New Year..2011 Here we Come

My number one question for all of you is.. What will you do this year to make your life a Bit better???

I am going back to school to get a Certification and hopefully make more $$$$.. then I will be able to work part time and enroll at least 1/2 time to school to work on my Masters.  I want to learn so much.. and Like I said School to me is for Learning and Knowledge. work is for $$$ so I will work to get more Education.

If that makes sense.. anyways this year I will continue with my exercise plan and hopefully I will be back to my ideal weight in July in time for My Cousins Wedding.. =) .. I am a Medium right now.. so I just have a little hump to go.

Also I plan to spend more time with JC, my Family and Myself. I need to find a class either an Art or Dance Class.. I need some Me time.
Last year  I only worked and worked and have nothing to show for .. except a tired body.. Not this year...

See the Picture on top .. that's my Nephews Drawing.. that's Him and I on a diving adventure, he has such a great imagination.. so this year I want to make that drawing a reality. We have been busy with a Super thick Homework package and we have fun writting the stories and drawing our adventures.

So for 2011 I want Adventures, and the great outdoors and Physical Activities and School and Knowledge.

may your 2011 be filled with what ever your hearts desire.

xoxooxox Liz =)

Typhoon...

As a Christmas gift I took my BF to dinner... LOL he loves being treated like a Prince =D.

Anyways he had been mentioning his desire to try this restaurant , because they serve certain dishes that you won't find in most places. The Restaurant is great, it is next to Santa Monica Airport and it has the best Lamb ever. I don't eat Lamb.. but their lamb.. I will definitely eat. But he mostly wanted to try the Scorpions and the Silk Worms. Yes, that is what he wanted so .. I made reservations for us and we set on trying something new.
So we started with some appetizers.. NO wait..let me tell you about the regular food first.

They have wonderful Thai Food the Lamb like I said was awesome and it is served with these rectangular bread that seem to be a mix of croissants and rolls. The Lamb is cut is thin slices and it is mixed with some yummy spices and veggies.. this was my Favorite. We ordered a side of white rice and this was yummy.

It was delicious, will go back for some more... the Lamb was about $19

I also wanted to make sure I ate something that I liked so I ordered some Kung Pao shrimp ( I don't like Lamb so I was not planing  on eating Lamb)

The Shrimp were Ok,not what I expected they were good , but needed some veggies and some spiciness, it only had a whole bunch of Onions and Peanuts.. =(
This was around $11.. skip it and get the Lamb =)

and We also ordered some Pai Thai Noodles which we didn't even touch and we took home.

Spicy Chile, always need this to make food better!

The following pictures might be a bit to much for some of you so "WARNING" .
Like I mentioned before he wanted to try something new and the main reason for going to dinner was to try the following plates.
We ordered the Scorpions and the Silkworm plate.

The scorpions were rather interesting, I didn't taste them since they were really small and super crunchy and were on top of a bread with Shrimp, I only tasted the shrimp , but I did feel the tail of it.. as I did not chew it properly.. it kinda scratched my throat.
Also 1 order is for 2 Small Scorpions..this was about $9- $11

and The Silk worms were as J described them rather nutty.. yup they were like peanut butter filled =D...I was avoiding tasting them , but he insisted and he seemed to like them so I said I would think about it.

Proof that I had some.. LOL.. not my best picture, I look really tired =(..
and here is my J...looking at the Silk worms.. with those little eyes of his..

And I washed it all down with some Yummy and super tall glass of Thai Iced Tea.

The Food was good, the Service was great, the ambiance was calm and intimate and we had a blast. =D

So if you are interested in trying some of this yummy and interesting food, check them out ! We made reservations , but traffic was great so we made it there 1 hour before our reservation, but they were very kind and moved our reservation to 5:30 pm. Also thats the time the kitchen opens so plan acordingly.

Typhoon it is located next to the Santa Monica Airport 3221 Donald Douglas Loop South  Santa Monica, CA  90405

Danger...Hungry Farm Animals..

I love this Picture, He had the most interesting eyes ever. I approached him and asked if I could take a picture and look he stood still and looked right at my camera. These are the pictures of our little adventure at a local petting farm.  It was not a planned visit we were driving by and my friend Jo spotted the little farm and decided to surprise us city kids with a little visit to this Pony and Animal Farm. So the 3 of us .. my nephews and myself  we were excited at the thought of seeing some live Farm Animals. My friend proceeds to buy 2 cups of food to feed the animals. Only we encountered a little problem, remember I said  "City Kids"  lol.. we have not been around any livestock such as the ones we were about to encounter and we did a couple of mistakes. =D

Mistake #1 Jo handed the cups of food to my nephew and niece.
Mistake #2 we allow them to walk in first and I was not aware that these goats are aggressive and will tackle you down for some food. So as I am approaching the entrance  I hear my nephew..Screaming "HELP!!! "they want to Eat ME!!!!"...as he is struggling to get away from the hungry goats, and  on the other side I see my niece trying to run away from the goats only to get corner by 4 goats.

I am freaking out.. Like I said we are city kids and  ignorant as to Farm Animals and their behavior. Joanne our resident New Hampshire Doll is also scared not because of the animals, but is trying to console my screaming and super terrified nephews who are convinced that the goats want to eat them. =D.. in reality the goats where aiming for the cups of food that that they were holding and to small children the goats are at eye level coming forward full speed ahead mouths all wide open and ready for some carrots and treats.  Once she realized that the food was the cause of the problem she knocked the food from the kids hands and the goats ran to eat. Leaving my nephews free to escape and that is exactly what my Nephew did .. He jammed right out of the pen and was not interested in going back in. Can you say TRAUMA!!! I felt horrible and so did Joanne, there she was trying to show us some cute farm animals and now here we have my nephew terrified to even look at the goats and refusing to go back in.

Here is a Picture of My niece.. see her smile.. it is one filled with nerves.. she was on her way out also, but I managed to convince her to stop and take a picture and the goats left her alone.

One down 1 to go.. I am so grateful to the owner she was so understanding and managed to mention How God creates the animal and that they are our friends. To that D replies.. Oh.. they are our friends God made them for us to care for.. so she intelligently replies.. yes.. I have baby Piggy's do you want to see them? and he replied "OH NO!".. not back in there.. so she replies and tells him.. "No"  "I have a different way to in, away from the goats and you can see baby ducks".  He heard ducks and babies.. Yes let see.. and WHAM he is cure =( not really he still dislikes goats and does not want to feed them but at least she managed to get him back in the pen.

In the back of this picture you see my nephews legs, he is the one n the middle... he needed protection lol to go back in to see the ducks and piggy's.

Warning to all ... Farm Animals are great, but use caution when food and little kids are involved.. they will dash for the food and the kids will think they are rushing them.
Anyways it was interesting and we got some cool picture.
This was a friendly goat.. she kept following me
Life Saving Ducks... Nephews Favorite

Heart Shaped Cherries

Today as I was on my way to work , I felt like I was in the mist of a BBQ Party.
The sky was foggy, smoky and the sweet smell of burning wood was all around me.
I said WOW!! What's Burning ??
Then I remember , that The Angeles National Forest was experiencing their yearly Fires.
So I remembered that some time in July we passed through the Forest on our way to a Cherry Picking Farm.
I wanted to show my nephew that cherries do not grow in supermarkets =D.
I remember that when we got to the forest I was a bit scared, see I don't like wooded and lonely places, because I keep remembering those movies where the victim always ends up in the woods.
I liked it even less when I notice my cell Phone had No Coverage.
"Great "I said what if I have an emergency ?
So not a cool feeling.. And the FIRE signs did not help. I saw signs that said
"Warning Fire can Break at any moment"!
Mmm.. maybe this was not such a good idea.
But it turn out to be fun, here are some of the pictures that I found.
We loved the heart shape Cherries and the yellow ones were so sweet.

Beach Day and Shamu

Hello and Happy Monday =D
Hope you had a great weekend. I want to share some Pictures of my nephew Damien, who loves the beach almost as much as I do.. and he loves Shamu ( aka --Orca - Killer Whales)

We act like clowns when we go to the beach, he pretends he is a stranded whale and I pretend like I am going to help him get back into water or try to capture him and take him home LOL. But what ever we decide to play, we always have a great day.
